Philadelphia police and SPCA busted a cockfighting ring with more than 40 roosters, and some hens, at a North Philly auto shop this weekend. The police were alerted by firefighters that were called to the scene for a fire, and saw the birds. The owner of the shop, 62-year-old Jose Rivera, was arrested on animal fighting charges despite his claims that he was keeping the chickens to make soup.
